Installation and Configuration

Before you install Autodesk Revit LT 2017, close all applications.

Install or Uninstall may fail if content is on a shared network location using a mapped drive

When installing or uninstalling, the procedure may fail if content had been redirected to a shared network location using a mapped drive. To prevent this error set the User Access Control in the Windows Control Panel to Never Notify.

System Requirements

The first task you need to complete is to make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements. If your system does not meet these requirements, problems can occur, both within Autodesk Revit LT and at the operating system level.

• In Autodesk Revit LT 2014 and previous releases, the program and content files were installed as part of a single installation package. For Autodesk Revit LT 2017, the installation of content files has been broken out into a separate installation package, Autodesk Revit LT Content Libraries 2017. Program related installation settings, including desktop shortcut and project path, remain part of the original Autodesk Revit LT 2017 installation package while content related installation settings, including content packs, default content, and configurable folders, are now associated with the Autodesk Revit LT Content Libraries 2017 installation package.
• The Autodesk Revit LT Content Libraries repair process will not restore missing content files. If you need to restore missing content files, running the Autodesk Revit LT Content Libraries reinstall process will accomplish this goal.
• If the default content setting is modified through the Autodesk Revit LT Content Libraries add or remove features process, the UserDataCache and user profile copies of the Revit.ini file are not updated to reflect this change. Running the Autodesk Revit LT repair process ensures that both copies of the Revit.ini file are updated to reflect the new default content selection.
• Refer to the online Autodesk Revit LT 2017 Release Notes document for details on the customer incidents resolved within this release.

To uninstall Autodesk Revit LT 2017

1. Access the Windows Control Panel and click Uninstall a Program.

2. Select Autodesk Revit LT 2017. Click Uninstall/Change. If the User Account Control dialog box is displayed, click Continue.

3. In the installation wizard, Maintenance Mode page, click Uninstall.

4. On the Uninstall Autodesk Revit LT 2017 page, click Uninstall.

5. Click Finish.

To uninstall Autodesk Revit LT Content Libraries 2017

1. Access the Windows Control Panel and click Uninstall a Program.

2. Select Autodesk Revit LT Content Libraries 2017. Click Uninstall/Change. If the User Account Control dialog box is displayed, click Continue.

3. In the installation wizard, Maintenance Mode page, click Uninstall.

4. On the Uninstall Autodesk Revit LT Content Libraries 2017 page, click Uninstall.

5. Click Finish.

To uninstall Autodesk Material Library 2017

If you have other Autodesk products installed, do NOT uninstall Material Libraries.

1. Turn off User Account Control (UAC) within Windows.

2. Access the Windows Control Panel, click Uninstall a Program, and uninstall in the following order:

Autodesk Material Library Low Resolution Image Library 2017

Autodesk Material Library Base Resolution Image Library 2017
