This list represents the reported issues resolved in the Autodesk Revit 2018 product line within build: 20170223_1515. The resolved issues are listed based upon discipline and feature. Additionally a list of smaller improvements which may not be explicitly mentioned within the Revit 2018 Online Help are included.

Resolved Issues

  - 3D Shapes
    - Fixed an issue when creating a 3D sweep with a small circular profile that would not display correctly or be selectable.
    - Fixed the display of some imported DWG files in section views.
  - Align
    - Improved the behavior of the Align tool, so that imported files can be rotated during alignment.
    - Improved stability when aligning structural elements in plan view.
    - Fixed an issue in which an alignment lock would not appear when you use the Align tool with the centerline of wall cores.

    - Fixed an issue so that, when you change the font for a text type, text created in different languages updates correctly.
    - Fixed an issue so that some special case custom font characters are now consistently rendered by the text editor and the rendering engine.

    - Fixed an issue so that schedules properly update as assemblies are renamed.
    - Fixed an issue where an adaptive component in an assembly would not type match properly and instead a new assembly type would be created.
    - Fixed an issue that caused identical copies of an assembly, within copies of a mass, to incorrectly get new names.
  - A360 and Collaboration for Revit
    - The search box in Views for A360 dialog will using 'AND' for strings instead of 'OR'.
    - Should the user be logged out of A360, and try to Sync with Central, Revit will prompt for a valid login. This behavior is unchanged. If the user clicks ""X"" to close the SSO login dialog, Revit will display an error dialog and not crash.
    - Fixed an issue that Revit Addon ViewsForA360 cannot show and select structural plan views.
    - User will be presented a login dialog to sign in, every time they try to access BIM 360 models from the File Nav Model Open workflow.
    - Fix an issue to avoid getting 'Operation could not completed' message when opening a C4R model with 'audit' mode.

    - Improved stability when previewing family types in the Type Properties dialog.
  - Content
    - Fixed a constraint issue in which content line symbol would not redraw correctly when the segment width changed in some vapor barrier layers.
    - Fixed a center alignment issue with the UK door families.
    - Fixed an issue in which shared nested family instances were not cutting their host.
    - Corrected the use of naming parameters in some steel shapes required to apply steel connections.
    - Recreated the site plan view of the structural analysis template to fix the "no viewer" issue of the site plan.
    - Fixed an issue in the L Unequal Angles-Column family that changed the Centroid Horizontal parameter to a type parameter.
    - Fixed a parameter mapping issue in "HSS Rectangular.rfa" and "HSS Square.rfa".
    - Replaced the thumbnail for the Sample Architecture Project and Sample Structure Project on the recent file page with a 3D view.
    - Fixed an issue in which the type selector incorrectly displayed "no matches" when placing a structural component in certain instances.
    - Corrected the use of naming parameters in some AUS steel shapes required to apply steel connections.
  - Crash Protection
    - Fixed an issue where a user was not always able to save a file during a crash.
  - Design Option
    - Improved the interaction of global parameters with design options.
  - DirectShape Elements
    - Fixed an issue so that newly created DirectShape elements now properly show surface patterns in non-realistic views. This fix affects Link IFC and some add-ins that use this element type.
    - Fixed an issue where Purge Unused could delete some DirectShape element types that were still in use.
    - Fixed an issue so that imported SAT and Rhino files are now cut properly based on their category in plan view, and use the cut object style in all views.
  - Edit
    - Fixed an issue when pasting an element to a specified level, so that specified level will now serve as the reference level.
    - Fixed an issue with the gap when elements are joined.
    - Improved the stability of automatic joining of walls.
    - Improved stability while placing masses in a model.
    - Improved stability when mirroring a project.
  - Energy
    - Corrected an issue where override settings for Analytic Constructions were lost in Heating and Cooling Load Calculations.
    - Improved stability when running an energy simulation that uses overrides for Schematic Types.

  - Export DWG/DXF
    - Added the option to export to DWG/DXF and DGN in True Color (RGB Values), as specified in the view.
    - Added the option to set the color for the hatch pattern background when exporting to DWG/DXF.
    - Corrected the translation of units in paper names when exporting to DWG.
    - Improved stability when exporting model elements to DWG as AutoCAD Architecture objects.

    - Corrected the IFC export of some solids that would incorrectly be exported as cylinders.

    - Improved the family symbol renaming dialog so that it accepts names that differ from the original name by only the case of letter, allowing changes like "NAME" to "Name".
    - Improved stability when manipulating a family in the Project Browser, and the family has no category associated with it.
  - Properties palette
    - Improved stability when deleting design options with multiple projects open.
    - Corrected an issue so that, when you are placing air terminals, changes to properties in the Properties palette are correctly saved.
  - Reference Planes
    - Improved behavior of reference planes so that when they exist in a link file and the link file is then bound into a host file, the reference plane retains its name in the host file.
  - Render
    - Fixed a problem that could occur with cloud rendering with localized computer names.
    - Fixed an issue with rendering views with large length-width ratio in cloud.
    - Improved stability when rendering images in the cloud.
    - Fixed an issue when specifying rendering a transparent background in the cloud.
    - Fixed an issue that could occur while with rendering.
    - In Simplified and Traditional Chinese versions, corrected camera view rendering issue where picture cannot be saved when “Transparent” background style is selected.
    - Implemented a file size limit of rendering output to 2G to avoid system failure.
    - Improved the quality of rendered images that are displayed on screen, so they are the same quality as rendered images that are exported.
    - Corrected the local render effect of self-illumination materials.
  - Schedules
    - Fixed an issue that can occur when the schedule header and title are hidden, and you try to delete the last row of a schedule.
    - Corrected an issue where the schedule filter value is limited by the width of input box.
    - Improved stability when syncing with central while editing text in a schedule.

    - Improved the behavior of the Autodesk logo link (in the lower left corner of Revit's startup screen) so that it uses the default Windows browser.
    - Fixed an issue where the main Revit window could become interactive behind a blocking dialog after using the End Task command from the Windows Task Manager.

    - Recreate site plan view of structural analysis template to fix the "no viewer" issue of the site plan

    - Improved stability when Load Types are copied between projects or transferred with project standards.
  - UI Frameworks
    - Fixed an issue that caused the ViewCube, SteeringWheels, and the navigation bar to disappear after exporting the model to DWFx.
    - Fixed an issue in which the column Width parameter in the Type Properties dialog could not be adjusted.
    - Fixed an issue that could cause Revit to hang when the focus is switched to a modal dialog.
    - Enabled the activation of the right-click content menu through the context menu key on Windows keyboard. The context menu key is to the right of the right-Windows key.
    - Fixed an issue so the quick access toolbar displays when using Revit on high resolution screens.
    - Improved behavior when using Revit on high resolution monitors with high DPI settings.
    - Fixed an issue that could cause instability in Revit when launching tools from the Quick Access Toolbar while working in Family Editor.

    - Fixed an issue that caused rotated assembly views to display incorrectly.

    - Fixed an issue that limited the display of insulation or lining on fabrication parts in an assembly view. Assemblies will not be fixed automatically during upgrade. Below are steps to correct the issue in a previously created project.
    - ---1. In a view, select the assembly and click the Edit Assembly tool in the Assembly contextual ribbon tab.
    - ---2. Select the fabrication parts that have insulation applied.
    - ---3. Set the Insulation Specification parameter to Off in the Properties Palette.
    - ---4. Reset the Insulation Specification parameter to the proper setting and click Finish.
    - ---5. Insulation should now display on the correct parts of the assembly in the view.
    - Improved stability when selecting incompatible view templates during assembly view creation.
    - Fixed an issue with the Create Assembly View dialog.
    - Improved stability when attempting to sort a column in the Create Assembly Views dialog.

    - Fixed an issue in which filters could be deleted instead of text when using the Delete key inside of a text field in the Filter dialog.

    - Added the ability to use the middle mouse button for manipulating the view when a warning dialog is open.

    - Fixed an issue when accessing Help in a work plane that caused multiple help windows to open.

    - Fixed an issue that could occur when reloading from the central model a rebar type that doesn't exist in the current model.

    - Fixed an issue so that floors, ceilings and roof elements can now have 0-thickness membrane layers, similar to wall elements.

    - Fixed an issue with the definition of automatic railings on multi-run stairs.
