Installation and Configuration
Before you install Autodesk Revit 2015, close all applications.
Install or Uninstall may fail if content is on a shared network location using a mapped drive
When installing or uninstalling the procedure may fail if content had been redirected to be on a shared network location using a mapped drive. To prevent this error set the User Access Control in Windows Control Panel to Never Notify.
Custom Folder in Deployments
In the Autodesk Revit 2015 Deployment Wizard the Path for Configurable Folders allows you to specify a custom folder in which to copy support content.
If you specify a folder location that has Read Only permission at the user level according to the Microsoft Windows User Access Control, then Autodesk Revit may become unstable. To avoid this, ensure that you have Write permission on your Microsoft Windows machine when creating your deployment with the Custom Folder option.
Single Share Folder Option for Deployment Images
When using the Single Shared Folder option to create a deployment image, specify a folder name to avoid creating an invalid deployment image. Do not leave the folder name as <Shared folder path>.
Roaming Profiles in a Networked Environment
It is recommended that Autodesk Revit is installed from the same deployment when installing to multiple computers in a networked environment. This ensures each user's roaming profile is properly initialized when the user logs into different servers.
If a non-deployment install is utilized to configure multiple servers, each user's roaming profile settings are restored to the default values as the user logs into different servers. To resolve this, use these steps:
RME 2015
RST 2015
RVT 2015
2. Copy the InstallGUID value. For example: InstallGUID={AC00A40D-0386-400C-82DC-86818C5027F6}
3. On each of the other servers in the network, locate the Revit.ini file and replace the InstallGUID value with the value copied from the first server.
You are invited to help guide the direction of Autodesk design software.
